ARMY WIFE TIP OF THE DAY

Perhaps the most important thing is to keep a sense of humor! If you don't have a sense of humor, you will NEVER be able to be a military wife. A sense of humor will get you through the hard times: illness, moving, problems, etc. One day, you will look back on your experiences. It is better to laugh about them to look back and lament the things that went wrong.

ARMY WIFE TIP OF THE DAY

Its okay to cry and to ask for help: This is more directed at the wives/girlfriends who's spouses are currently deployed, but please, please, please never forget these simple things. Yes it is okay to cry! Even if its something silly like a commercial that reminds you of your loved one. Why wouldn't it be okay to cry? Your heart is hurting, and you are sad. Cry all you want. But don't forget that you have other responsibilities that you have to take care of -a job, your kids, etc. Hold your head up high for them, but that doesn't mean you have to be the strongest woman on the planet 24/7. Along those lines, ask for help when you need it! We can't do the job of two people. Its just not how we're programmed. If you need a day off, take your kids to a friends/parents house. Or day care. Take a day off work. Do something for yourself where you don't have to worry about anyone or anything else. We all struggle, but you will burn yourself out if you try to take on 100% of everything 100% of the time.

Sad by the loss of a GREAT ARMY WIFE

I am sad and heart broken by the loss of my grandmother last night she was a beautiful lady inside and out and a truly GREAT person!

ARMY WIFE TIP OF THE DAY

Remind him that you care: Listen, in all honesty, being with a military man is tough work! The military will always come first before you, or your kids, or anything else. Just remember that this is his life...especially if he was in the military before you two got together. He needs you to be there for him and be supportive and that is exactly what you need to be doing. When he is deployed, its even more important. Its okay to be upset when he has to go off for training, or a deployment, or miss your son's birthday, but this is his job, and it will always be the first and foremost thing on his to-do list. Just smile, say "I love you and its okay" and hug him tight.

ARMY WIFE TIP OF THE DAY

Get to know the other wives/girlfriends: This one was a life saver for me. Join your FRG (Family Readiness Group) for the unit. Get together with them once a month or so and obtain all the information about the unit, or just the goings on around the post. If you do go to the FRG meetings and you find out that you don't particularly like them, at least befriend a couple of the wives that you can hang out with when you need someone to talk to, or just need some girl time. If you have kids, find other wives that you can form play groups with.

ARMY WIFE TIO OF THE DAY

Know the guys in his unit: This is hard for some people because their SO's unit is so massive. But don't worry. Just get to know some of the guys that he closest to. Not only will you be able to hang out with him and his friends and feel more comfortable when he goes out without you, but you'll have someone to fall back on when you need them the most. When you need some guys to help take your couch to the dump, or when you need someone to go rescue your husband at the bar, they will be there for you. They take you into their brotherhood too.

ARMY WIFE TIP OF THE DAY

Learn how to read his LES: LES is short for Leave and Earning Statement -aka the pay check. There are so many things that will be useful to you on his LES -i.e. How much taxes are getting taken out, how many days of leave he has, not to mention what he's actually getting paid! If he's deployed, you'll be checking this every single pay period, and if you don't know how to read it, you are going to be in a world of hurt. Its going to be even more frustrating when you have no way to get a hold of him to ask him. This is especially important to you if you are the one who controls the money and pays the bills.

Army Wives, I founds some good info wanted to share with u

Remember that nothing is set in stone: The army and its members, as well as all the other branches of the military, like to change their minds all the time. Your boyfriend or husband may have heard one thing, but is going to be doing something completely different. Unless it is on paper and in his hand, its a changeable matter. So when your significant other tells you one thing, just remember that you can hope and wish all you want, but don't get too excited, because its probably not going to happen, and you are really just setting yourself up for disappointment.
